Yes, it takes some time to heal your lungs. It depends on how long ago you had bronchitis and if it has been several weeks, I would just call the doctor’s office and let them know what is happening. It may give you some peace of mind also.
It does take some time to repair your lungs, and I agree with everyone else that has answered you with slow down on things for awhile and gradually break into the longer walks and exercises. It will just take some time, but it up to you not to push it past the limit of what you can or cannot do.
I hope you feel better soon.

Absolutely normal. Depending how severe the bronchitis was, you probably lost of lot of capacity temporarily. It’s a matter of conditioning, not damage.

Gradually increasing exercise will restore full capacity in a few weeks.

Bronchitus is just a name doctors stick on just about anything that results in shortness of breath. The little airways in your lungs close up in response to allergens or are blocked by mucus. Recovery begins when the irritant causing the condition ends. Pollen allergies are a very common cause. You need to cough up all the muck that get trapped in the shrinking airways. I take tablets called Dodo that contain Ephedrine and cause the airways to relax so that you can cough out the muck. I found Benylin cough mixture works too.
I have suffered for years from pollen allergy mis-diagnosed on numerous occasions as Bronchitus.

And Doctors nearly killed me twice.
