I have the Copper IUD right now. My OBGYN said that its the only thing that I can be on. However I HATE my IUD, and want to get it out. Is there anything else I can use for birth control? We are planing another baby in 2 or 3 years so Tubes tied is not an option. Is there anyone with a history of blood clots, or a blood clotting disorder? If so what are you on?

The copper IUD is one of the few things you can use because it doesn’t have any hormones. Other options are male or female condoms, a diaphragm with spermicide, and natural family planning where you monitor your temperature and cervical mucous to know when it is safe or not safe to have sex. This method has a high rate of failure though- you have to be really in tune with your body. Why don’t you like the IUD? Because honestly if you can try and last another two years then you can have your baby and get your tubes tied then and be done with it.

I also have blood clots right now and I was pregnant too and they told me the same thing I can get an IUD and I said no because I previously had that too and it was horrible so I was told im able to get female condoms or birth control pill with progesterone only no estrogen. I hope this helps and good luck.
