No that trans-fat hysteria gets rid of only one kind of fat.

The real problem is that fried food is dripping with oil and that oil is very fattening. If you are still eating fried you will still not be eating healthy.

The words fried and healthy are never going to be friends. These food are not healthy. Maybe they’re not as bad as before (I don’t know) but don’t start packing these snacks in because you’ve been told they’re healthy now.
They are still horribly fattening and made from garbage.
A healthful food is one that contains something our body needs to live well. Fruit, vegetables and meat in moderation are healthful foods because they contain the vitamins, minerals, protein, etc. that we need to live.
Fritos contain nothing but fat and sodium. Same with most of those other foods you listed.

I’ve read recently that saturated and trans fats are equally as bad for you. Also, that McDs and KFC, etc. have just been replacing the removed trans fats with saturated fats.

There are, howerver, some "healthy" fats. The best you can do is read lables and nutrician info carefully!

I always use olive oil in cooking, too.

Yes, they’re still unhealthy if you eat too much. Even eating too much olive oil can be unhealthy. The trans fat free oil now used is healthier and won’t cause as serious a problem, but people still must be just as careful how much they eat. Just because they’re "healthier" doesn’t mean that people can go on a french fry or potato chip binge. It’s great that there’s no trans fat, though.
